Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Mendios Technologies Bangalore Pvt Ltd (the company behind WebMobi) for your use of SpeechStep. Please read the medical note in section 3 — it matters for how you use the app.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using SpeechStep, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What SpeechStep is

SpeechStep is an AI-assisted speech-practice tool for children, used by a parent or guardian. It offers guided practice, pronunciation feedback, progress tracking, and free informational tools.

3. Not medical advice

Important. SpeechStep is an educational practice tool, not a medical device, diagnosis, or treatment, and is not a substitute for evaluation or therapy by a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) or other qualified professional. AI scores and any “risk” or milestone results are estimates for guidance only and can be wrong. Do not use them to diagnose a condition or to delay seeking care. If you have concerns about your child’s speech or development, consult a qualified clinician.

4. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of any child who uses SpeechStep through your account. You are responsible for your account, for supervising your child’s use, and for the accuracy of the information you provide. Keep your sign-in email secure.

5. Parental consent & recordings

Practice is on-device by default. Recording features are off until you turn them on and grant consent, and you may withdraw consent at any time. By enabling recording you confirm you are the child’s parent/guardian and consent to the processing described in the Privacy Policy and Children’s Privacy page.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service unlawfully, or for anyone other than a child in your care.
  • Upload audio of a person without the right to do so, or upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.
  • Attempt to breach security, access other users’ data, scrape, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
  • Resell or commercially exploit the service without our permission.

7. Intellectual property

SpeechStep, including its software, content, models, and branding, is owned by WebMobi (Mendios Technologies Bangalore Pvt Ltd) and its licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the service for your family’s use. Your data remains yours; you grant us the permissions described in the Privacy Policy to operate the service.

8. Plans & payment

Some features may be free and others paid. Any prices, billing terms, and refund conditions will be shown to you before you purchase. Where no paid plan applies, this section has no effect.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that scoring is accurate, that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will meet your requirements. See section 3.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WebMobi (Mendios Technologies Bangalore Pvt Ltd) and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on scores or results. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or, if you paid nothing, to USD 100.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WebMobi and its affiliates from claims arising out of your misuse of the service or your breach of these terms.

12. Termination

You may stop using SpeechStep and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or to protect the service or its users. On termination we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to the service & terms

We may update the service and these terms. We will change the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

14. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive any right to participate in class actions or class-wide arbitration.

15. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
