What you get
Earn 25%
25% of what each family you refer pays, excluding tax: the first payment and every renewal for 2 years. If you leave the programme, you keep earning until those 2 years end.
Your link, code and QR
Invite a family in the session with a QR code, by email, or with a short code they type in. It opens a page with your plan on it, not a sales page.
Paid monthly
By bank transfer, with no fees to you. Your dashboard shows what is pending, eligible and paid. UPI payouts in India are being added.
Families always know
Before a family subscribes through your invitation, SpeechStep shows them this, word for word:
“Your SLP invited you to SpeechStep and may receive a referral payment if you subscribe through their invitation. This does not affect their professional independence or your care choices.”
Your clinical judgement stays yours. You are free to recommend whatever suits your client, including not using SpeechStep.
From invitation to payout
- 1You invite a familyFrom your caseload: a QR code, an email or a code. The family sees your plan and a clear note that you may receive a referral payment.
- 2They subscribeA commission is recorded on each payment they make for 2 years from their first one. Families who found SpeechStep on their own earn nothing.
- 3The refund window passesA payment becomes eligible 30 days after it is charged. If it’s refunded first, the commission is reversed.
- 4You’re paidOnce your eligible balance reaches $25 (₹2,000 in India), it goes out in the next monthly payout.

So you recommend it from first-hand experience, every Pro account comes with:
- A demo family (Emma, 6, working on /r/) with three weeks of practice to review, a plan to edit and a Snapshot to write. It never counts in your figures.
- “Try the child experience”: practise the demo plan exactly as a child does. Your recordings are discarded and never uploaded.

The terms, in plain words
Subject to the Referral Partner Terms, in force since 12 October 2026.
- You receive 25% of eligible subscription revenue from families attributed to you under the Partner Terms, for 2 years from each family's first payment, including every renewal in that time. A lifetime purchase earns a one-time 12.5%.
- Commission is calculated on the price the family actually paid, excluding tax.
- A payment becomes eligible 30 days after it is charged.
- The minimum payout is $25.
- The minimum payout in India is ₹2,000.
- Payouts are made monthly by bank transfer. In India, UPI payouts through RazorpayX are being added.
- Commission is earned on a family's payments for 2 years from their first payment, including every renewal in that time. Payments after that earn nothing.
- If you leave the partner programme, you keep earning on the families you already referred until their 2 years end.
- If a payment is refunded, the commission on it is reversed.
- The clinical relationship comes first: a family you invite, or who connects you as their SLP, is attributed to you. A partner link or code from another SLP never takes a family already connected to you.
- Attribution is fixed at the family’s first paid subscription and is never transferred if they later connect another SLP.
- Families who found and subscribed to SpeechStep on their own earn no referral commission.
- You cannot refer yourself.
- The programme is not offered to professionals in California, New York, Florida, Ireland, Canada or Australia, where professional rules restrict referral payments. In Texas you must disclose your financial interest to families yourself.
Disclosure to families
Families are told before subscribing when an SLP who invited them may receive a referral payment — on the invite, the QR code landing, the partner link and the code entry alike.
Your own professional rules
Licensing bodies and regulators have their own rules on referral payments. Some ask you to tell families yourself, and some restrict payments for referrals. Check yours before you join; the Partner Terms ask you to confirm it.
The Partner Terms define exactly what counts as eligible revenue, including discounts and promotions, refunds and chargebacks, taxes, payment fees, plan changes, lifetime purchases and currency conversion.
